Pink Lemonade Fiction is a book of poems that have been turned into lyrics over an assortment of instrumentals created by individuals who are truly multi-elemental beings. It was the first "album" I made in about 3 years’ time (the last being in November 2010 with this album being recorded in June 2014)) and the first since I began my journey to becoming successful in my career as an educator. It is an album about the longing to be recognized, the desire to see dreams in real time, and the overall search for something "more."

As well, it is about the innate drive we all have for something greater...the expectations we have for others to be "more" in the image of what we expect them to be. Some have expected "more" from me and from me expecting "more" from some of those individuals I have sometimes been isolated by my own refusal to be the image they want me to be.

Thus, Pink Lemonade Fiction is inspired by the cultural beings who will neglect their exotic nature to just "fit in." It is assembled to reflect the longings, the desires, the hopes, the flaws, the anger, and frustrations of still not feeling like you are "accepted." It is also the realization that maybe you are not the "good guy" you thought you were, that if you truly were the "good guy" then you could settle with less (which is greater than just being alone). The "good guy" must realize that he wants more: more love, more appreciation, more physicality, and all the things attached to seeing that girl you are crushing on as the "one" even if it is an illusion created from less solid foundations.

In my life, wanting something more has been about being for the moment; a fact that many in this generation are unable to do because of the fear which is mass marketed by technology. It is due to our ego, our inability to understand that the moment is fleeting, that we can never truly capture it similar to the seconds we spare. I do not control the reactions of those who listen to this album and/or read my words; I can only control how I react to their reactions. Thus, this album is my form of mindfulness training for me; it is my attempt at practicing the Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo preached by a friend to tap into my inner Buddha nature, to face the conflicts and the events that bring me to the realization that I AM THE MASTER OF MY OWN UNIVERSE.

Much has changed this past year since this album was recorded, but I still toast the following:

For her who changed my life when she advocated on my behalf...
